House Update and Hanging out with Uncle Daniel

I love love love that we've gotten to spend so much time with Daniel this week.  He is such a good Uncle and I'm so happy that Zach gets to have such awesome family.

Daniel was trying to pack up his stuff and get all ready for his flight....Zach didn't care.  He wanted to wrestle!  Luckily so does Uncle Daniel.

I love these cheese-ers!!!

We've been doing some work in the house and Zach has been liking his brand new play area/construction stuff.

We are going to be keep pretty busy for the next couple months.  Lot of changes and exciting things going on.

Meeting Uncle Daniel!

My brother Daniel had been in the MTC for about 4 days when I found out that I was pregnant.  The weekend before he went into the MTC, we had a big BBQ at my grandparents house and no one knew it (not even Aaron and I) but we had a little Zach growing in my tummy!  My parents were still in town when we were trying to process the news that we got about 10 minutes before they showed up to watch conference with us.

So, needless to say, Daniel was pretty ticked that he was going to have to wait to see his little nephew!  He got home in December of 2013 and had to wait to come to Utah.
He finally got the chance because Markus was getting the Melchizedek Priesthood, which is a really big thing in my religion.  So Zach and I got to pick up Daniel from the airport.  We woke up early so that we could start making him a sign.

Zach is still working on his spelling so this sign had to get scrapped.  Come on ZACH!  Get it together!

Much better little bear!

Since I didn't get to welcome Daniel home when he got off his mission (He went to the Houston airport), I thought that it would be fun to make a sign to take us back in time a little bit.

This was also the first time that Zach has ever gotten to color something.  Normally we don't have the caps off when he is holding a pen because....well....he's a baby.

His first master piece!  Just for Uncle Daniel!

Zach loves going on little field trips and so he LOVED being at the airport and looking around at all of the people.  He has no idea why some random guy was coming up to us and talking so he just sat in his stroller and kept watching people coming down the escalator.

It was crazy for me to see Daniel again.  Mostly because I felt like nothing had changed since the last time I saw him.  He DID NOT feel the same way since I suddenly had a baby boy AND a driver's license.  I think that it was pretty crazy for him to see me driving....and being a mother.

Once we got home, Zach warmed right up to Daniel.  Makes my heart melt.

Uncle's are the best play ground.  That weekend, Zach slept really great at nap times....he was getting tuckered out by all the fun he was having with his Uncles!

I love watching my brothers with my son.  They have been great brothers and now it is only natural that they are awesome uncles.

Daddy Lunch Date

The stars aligned for Aaron to have a lunch date with us at Arby's today.  One of the biggest perks of having my driver's license is that I can go and have lunch dates with my best friend.

Zach liked it too.  He got to stand in the booth and watch all of the cars drive by.

He seriously loved it.  Try not to swoon from the cuteness of the moose on his butt.

I don't know why Aaron is looking so coy in this picture.  He is probably also looking at some of the cars driving passed us.

*sigh* I love my life.  Aren't these boys dreamy?

This Week In Motherhood

I don't know what it has been about this week, but I've just been soaking in every moment.  Maybe it is the weather changing and growing warm or maybe it is just the fact that my baby is growing up and sleeping better but I feel fully aware of every wonderful moment that passes.

I wished for so long that my house would become littered with toys.  I would seriously go into other people's houses and see their children's toy chests contents everywhere but the toy chest and wish in my heart that someday, my home would look like that.

Now that Zach is moving around all over the place on his own, my living room looks like this 10 minutes after he is up and out of bed.

I love it.  I honestly love it.  (Please...no one comment on this with the "you just wait till..." comments because I got that the whole time I was trying to conceive and while I was pregnant.  It's ungrateful and ignorant.)

While he is super mobile now, he is still my little cuddle bear.  About every 30 minutes, he wonders over to me and wants to snuggle.  I don't know whether he is testing to make sure that I'll always be there for him or if he just wants a comfy place to take a break from his toys, but I love being there.

This is a picture of us watching "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" (pardon my shirt being all over the place....we had been doing a fair bit of wrestling).

Once Zach is done cuddling, he will start squirming around and I put him back down.  It's a wonderful system for us.

Today, he snuggled up to my chest and actually fell asleep for 20 minutes.  It was a little piece of heaven.

Please excuse the paint on my window from Halloween, in this next photo.  Zach LOVES to look out the window.  I'll put him on the couch and he climbs up back there with the dogs.  I once made the mistake of not opening the curtains wide enough for all interested parties....it got a little bit violent.

And these are just pictures for your enjoyment of my beautiful blue eyed baby.

Right now, I have the best job in the world.  Being a mom is my life's calling.

Outside Air

Zach woke up from his second nap a total grump.  He wasn't sleepy.  He wasn't hungry.  He was just a grump because.....gosh, it is hard waking up from a nap and feeling bored.

So, I loaded him up in a stroller to capitalize on the wonderful early spring weather that we are having.

I found a stick for him to hold while we walked around.  Aaron was at cub scouts and I accidentally locked us out of the house, so the stroll lasted longer than I thought but it was seriously, MAGICAL to get out of the house.  Zach has always LOVED being outside and I'm so glad that the weather warmed up so that we can start doing that more and more again.

Free Pancake DAY!!!!!

It was free pancake day!!!  And who can say no to that?!?!  Aaron got home and I told him that we HAD to go.  Mostly because I was a victim of everyone's yummy looking instagram photos.  Everyone was posting photos of delicious free pancakes and I wanted some too.

I love this picture of Aaron. He's looking at a little hand that wants some pancake too.  Don't worry, we let him have some too.

He couldn't take his eyes off of those golden stacks!

As I have said....I was very excited for my free pancakes.  Plus, I needed to get some good photos to ALSO put on Instagram, to prove to the internet that I'm not a loser....wait......

We haven't celebrated a lot of holidays with our son,  but I'm glad that we have observed this day, the most holy of pancake days.
