Many Things, Little Time

Yeah, I haven't written in awhile but Aaron and I don't have a ton of time. He is still working full time and I'm working part time and going to school part time.

On the 18th, we went to a BBQ at my grandparents house for a last good bye to Daniel before he went into the MTC. Most of the family is used to seeing him only once a year so I think that they are used to it long good byes with Daniel. But it was good to visit with him.
Aaron and I got to see him one last time in Salt Lake at Mimi's Cafe. It was a really fun night and I for sure cried the whole way home. I'm going to miss Daniel so much but I know he is doing what is right.

My brother went into the MTC on the 21st.

Seriously, he is going to be an awesome missionary.
Then the next weekend, we went down to Provo. I got to help my best friend try on wedding dresses (and I'm not talking about Aaron...though that would be hilarious). It was Friday night. We got to go down early because I was sick and missed work (they didn't want me to infect children.
Clarise knew that she was going to get engaged soon (to my other awesome friend, Geoff) and so while I was in town, she wanted to try on wedding dresses, since she was there for me when I was trying on wedding dresses for my big day.

This one didn't get the vote and so I can put this picture up here. Clarise picked a BEAUTIFUL dress and I can't wait to see her in it on her wedding day. Simply lovely. Well, after this, we headed to BYU campus so we could watch the premiere of our new movie. You know, this movie? Did I not write about this movie? That was another weekend.

Right after the movie was over, this happened.

BEST NIGHT EVER! It was perfect. She knew it was coming but she didn't know that it would be in front of all of her friends and totally awesome. The next day, we took engagements. Yeah, they are on the fast track to getting married! It is going to be in December and I'm so happy for them.

It has been a busy couple of weeks and next month, I will try and keep you updated.

Photo Sunday!

On Sunday, Aaron and I got to head down to Salt Lake to see some friends! I've been planning on taking pictures of this little one for so long! I'm really happy that I got the chance to finally do it!
Oh...this isn't the little one. This is Aaron.
He is such a hunk! Seriously people...I can't get enough of looking at this boy. His wonderful blue eyes and his firey red beard. *sigh* Thank you Heavenly Father!

Anyway...moving on to someone who is also ADORABLE!

You will have to check out my Candid Joy Photography page or my photography blog to see better quality pictures. Google is the worst at maintaining image quality.

We even got to see my wonderful sister-in-law, Dee.

I can't wait till her and I both have babies and we are running around playing! She is so great with kids and babies LOVE her!

And of course, Aaron and Daniel had to watch some football while we were there. The little one watched from Aaron's lap.

Seeing Aaron like this makes me so excited for him to be a dad. I love little glimpses into the future!

It was a wonderful visit and a yummy dinner. We are so lucky to have such fun friends!

Best Job Ever

For people who aren't in the know, I haven't worked in two years. My husband has been paying my way through college. I decided that it would feel pretty good to be earning some money and helping out our family more so

I GOT A JOB!

It is the best job ever. You will never believe. I go to a preschool and I get the kids and the room ready for nap time. Then I sit and rub little ones' backs while they go to sleep. Then in an hour, I wake them up and put all the things away and get the room ready for snacks and more play time.

It is an awesome job that fits my schedule wonderfully! Today was my second day and I loved it! I already have most of the children's names memorized and where they need to sleep so that they have the highest chance of not talking to their neighbors. I don't know what I will do with my minimum wage money yet...maybe buy Aaron something nice. :)

Hopefully I will be able to get all of my school work done too.

Labor Day-bor

I think that that title is from some Home Star Runner that I watched back in the day. Oh...I just found it. Yes. It is from Strong Bad E-mails.

Anyway, for Labor Day, Aaron and I had some of my friends from Provo come up and have crazy fun with us. We hadn't made a movie all together in nearly 3 years since Geoff was serving a mission for the LDS Church in Japan for 2 years.

Making the movie was awesome. Geoff's sister took this picture for us...and Aaron is standing next to me in this picture...she couldn't look through the camera because we were getting a shot for the movie when she took this and we needed to see the lens...long story...but that is why the picture is crazy.

That was most of our weekend but on Monday, we all took it easy and then at night, had a little BBQ...on the George Foreman.

It was so fun to have them up here this weekend. I love a long weekend with my friends. I don't know when I'm going to have the time to see them again. I can't wait for the next time that I'm going to get to see them!!

TIMBER!!

After class on Monday, when we pulled up in our driveway, we saw this.

Yeah...it was super windy Sunday night...so it would have made sense for it to come down then but it waited an extra 24 hours.
Aaron was not pleased.
At least it didn't fall the other way onto the car, right? Or on the new shingles or something? Yeah, this was something that didn't matter. And that feels great since we spent the last 3 weeks worrying about the roof. This was something that didn't have to be taken care of immediately AND it didn't ruin anything.

He thought about it for a minute. We had a dumpster still at that point and it could have gone in there. But in the end we decided that we would leave it.

We left it. The next day, the city came to take care of it. So...yeah...huge branch...small problem. HOORAY!!!!!

Also...maybe someday I will tell you about how the roof turned out.

But really quick, the dumpster was gone Friday morning! The railroad ties from our backyard are gone along with the GIGANTIC mess that the shingles made. BEST FEELING! We have our yard and driveway back!!!
OH! And Aaron fixed the swamp cooler today! In time for fall...this week has been cold...and so...I don't really need it anymore. But it is good to know that everything is back to normal.

Okay...that is the end of the roof saga. I didn't mean to end it in such a boring way but...here we are.

IT'S OVER!!!

Paleo Diet: Almond Pan-crepes

I will give you this recipe really quick. It turned out MUCH better than the soy flour but is still a little off. It was enough to make me super happy for a couple days though.

1 cup of Almond Flour
1/2 cup of Almond Milk
1/4 cup of water
1 egg
dash of cinnamon

Mix it all together and cook it like a pancake. It is a little thin because almond milk is thinner than milk but that just makes it more like a crepe.

Pour some honey on top or anything else you might want and ENJOY!!
