Happy New Year...and Decade!

I was talking with my brother tonight and I told him that this was the beginning of "his" decade. It would be the decade with some of the most dramatic life choices for him. At the end, he will be 26. I got to thinking, I am going to be 31. Wow...I can't even comprehend that. Aaron will be almost 40. Mind boggling...

At the beginning of 2020, I will have kids. I could be taking kids to school and helping them in cub scouts. Yeah...mind boggling.

One of the New Years traditions that I have always wanted to start was a letter to my one year older self. I have yet to start it and so I thought that it would be a fun idea today.

Dear Katrina,
Well, you made it through another year. 2009 was a little crazy but you loved it. Aaron and you have been married for over a year now. Is it still amazing? Are you still in the honeymoon stage? Have you changed your mind about having kids?

If you have forgotten, here is what you thought about 2009. UNFORGETTABLE!!! You married Aaron...which is probably one of the best decisions so far in your life. He is wonderful. *sigh* I want to believe that I will always feel this way for him. I could go on. Do you still tell Heavenly Father, "thank you" every night for him before you fall asleep? It is weird to think that there was 6 months this year when I wasn't married. We bought a house! This is our first home. Have you finally set it up the way you wanted it? Are there still projects that you are thinking about getting done?

Here are the things you were suppose to accomplish in 2010:

  • Do at least one thing from your "bucket list".
  • Learn to sew...you have to make a dress by the end of the year.
  • Go to Mexico (or at least a new state)
  • Read the Book of Mormon again.
  • Get the garden looking awesome.
  • Teach Pippen three new tricks.
  • Go to the temple at least once a month with Aaron

I hope you got all that done. I believe in you.

This was the year us 4 friends scattered to the corners of the earth. It was rough being apart but in 2010, 3 of us are going to get back together.

Geoff is on his mission. I wish he was home again so that we could all hang out and make a movie or talk about life and just laugh and laugh. But in February 2011 he is coming home. That is two months from when you are reading this. Doesn't time fly?

Andy has had a crazy year. He was in Canada...but Heavenly Father made sure to get him to my wedding. He is thinking about transferring closer to me. That should be interesting. I would love it if he was closer...I just hope his school goals are accomplished also.

Clarise went every where in the last year. She moved to New Zealand for a few months and boy did you miss her. You couldn't talk to her every day. You didn't go to sleep talking to her. It was the first year without a Las Vegas road trip since you moved to the US. Then she was in Texas where she was working all the time. She is so strong. Do you still look to her for advice? Is she still waiting for Geoff? Has she started a major count down? She is moving back to Utah in the next couple days so you will probably see a lot of her in 2010. I'm so excited.

I love life. I love it so much that it is starting to sound cliche. There is no one in the world I would rather be. I get to snuggle up with Aaron every night. I get to go to school and learn about the world. I get to play with a cuddly dog. I get to travel to some fun places. I get to have amazing friends. I was blessed with an amazing family and an amazing new family to enjoy. Oh, I just remember, you are probably at Aaron's parents house this year! Was it way fun? I bet it was.

There is nothing to not like about my life...except some minor grievances. Remember when your identity got stolen? BOO!

Things that are cool right now:
Calling shoes "foot covers". All the cool kids are doing it. Right, Clarise?
Octamom is not cool but what is cool is completely shutting down anyone that tries to get famous. Like "balloon boy". And Susan Boyle. The media turned on her something ugly. Wow.
Daniel thinks Lady Gaga is a hermaphrodite. But he is also afraid of zombies so I don't know how credible he is at screening his information.

You like Glee...because that guy teacher is so yummy. I guess the music is good too.
Is Heroes still happening? I hate that show. So stupid...it is a good thing Aaron is cute.
Have you caught up on your scrap booking? You love scrap booking. It is such a good memory saver. Same with journals and blogging. There is no way that my great grand children with not know who I am.

Good luck with school and hard decisions that are coming up. Remember to pray.
Well, good luck with 2011! :) Don't forget to write to me and tell me how you did this year. 2011 Katrina will be waiting for this tradition to turn into something cool! Don't disappoint her!

Love,
A very happy and still wildly in love with life, Katrina.

P.S. Can you kiss 2010 Aaron? Tell him it is from me. :)
