The Lights on Temple Square

The 28th was my parents' last full day in Utah for the Christmas break...and so that was the day we could hang out with them.  We decided that we would go and see the lights at Temple Square to celebrate Christmas.

Fun fact:  I was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on December 28th, 1996 in Utah.  Even though we lived in Louisiana at the time, we decided to head up to have my baptism with all my relatives.  After I was baptized, we went with some family friends up to see the lights at Temple Square.  So, 16 years later, we were back at Temple Square.

We met up at my grandparent's house.  And Markus found a pretty impressive icicle to play with.

After visiting with some family, we headed to Salt Lake City. We had tons of fun walking around, looking at the sites.  Like outside of the North Visitors Center, there is a giant nativity set and over the loud speakers, they tell the story of the Nativity from the Bible.

Around outside, they have a lot of different decorations.  A favorite, are the lite up paper bags with different designs and words in a variety of languages.

Our family had a fun scavenger hunt to find the Thai bags.  This one is "Joy".

3 and a half years ago (and two days) we were married there!

Some of the decorations were covered by the snow...it made them look even cooler.

This was a beautiful and spiritual way to end the Christmas season.  I'm so glad that my family was able to make it up to Utah and spend a couple days with us.
